In response to the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order, compliance with the recommendations of the
Centers of Disease Control (CDC) and in the interest of public safety to assist with the
containment of the COVID-19 virus, the Town of Charlestown Town Offices are open by appointment only with limited staffing
Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
Services normally provided by the Town will continue. Members of the public are encouraged to call
the office or utilize our outside drop box, mail, e-mail or use our online services. The outside
drop box can be utilized for property tax payments, water/sewer payments, dog registrations,
vehicle registrations inventory forms and inventory of taxable property. Please see the detailed
procedures explained below. Online services include tax payments, registration renewals, dog
registrations, vital records and tax cards, tax maps and other assessment information. Please

Deadlines of the Inventory of Taxable Properties, Tax Credit and Exemption applications have all
been extended to May 15th.

Property Tax: Payments can be made online (www.charlestown-nh.gov), by mail or in the
outside drop box.
Water/Sewer: Payments can be made by mail or in the outside drop box.
Stickers: A copy of the registration of the vehicle being used for this
purpose with the payment of $50 for 1st sticker or $5 for 2nd sticker. This can be done either by
mail or in the drop box. These will be processed and a receipt mailed to you to present at transfer
station for sticker.
Dog Registrations: Dog renewals can be done online or through the mail or in the drop box
noting your dogs name on the check. There are no late fees during the month of May.
Vital Records &
Marriage Licenses: Vital records can be done online with a copy of identification emailed to
email@example.com or a form can be sent to you, filled out & returned with copy of
identification and the payment.
Marriage License will require an appointment. All necessary documents should be emailed to

Registrations: Renewals can be done online, by mail or the drop box. If you are not
sure of the amount of your registration, you can call 603-826-5821.
New Vehicles purchased through a private sale or from another State, residents can mail all the
necessary paperwork or put in the drop box. Please call 603-826-5821 to review what paperwork will
be needed and the amount that will be due.
New Vehicles purchased from a NH dealer, please note that dealer temp plates are valid until April
30 if purchased as of March 1. Residents can mail all the necessary paperwork or put in the drop
