Soccer sign-ups~will be on Friday, August 20th from 6 - 8 pm and Saturday, August 21st from 9 - 12 am at the Old Town Hall.~ Anyone interested in coaching should pick up a coach application at the Selectboard Office and plan to attend the soccer coach training on Saturday, August 28th, from 1 – 4 pm.~
We are also looking for adult and teenage referees for the upcoming Fall soccer season. We are offering a free soccer referee clinic on Sunday, August 29th from 9 am - 2 pm.~ Anyone interested in refereeing this season should plan to attend this free clinic. For more information or to register, please call Carol McShane at 603 690 5642 by August 25th.
We have been lucky to have such great weather to enjoy the town pool this summer. We have a few pool parties coming up for the remainder of the season. Friday, July 30th from 5 – 8 pm is the next pool party and admission to the pool is free. We will be selling hot dogs, burgers, soda, and ice pops, as well as baked goods provided by the volunteers from the senior center. Proceeds will benefit the Charlestown Rec. Dept. and the sporting programs and events they support. Our final pool party for this summer will be held on Saturday, August 14th from 4 – 7 pm. We hope to see you all there!
The Rec. Dept. will also be selling concessions during the Music in the Air events at Patch Park. Please come down to enjoy the music and check out the menu that is available during these dates: Saturday, August 7th and Saturday, August 21st from 1 – 7 pm.
In other news, we are currently accepting applications for the vacancy of the Recreation Director position.~ Our former Director, Scott Hagland, needed to step down due to work obligations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Scott for all he has given the Rec. Dept. and we wish him good luck in the future.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge all of our children and families who have recently wrapped up a great baseball and softball season.~ We are so proud of our Babe Ruth softball girls first season in the league. Thanks to the coaches and parents who helped kick off their season and for all of their hard work!
