In 1862 a trust fund was established by Asahael Porter, Maria Holden, and John Fairbrother to help widows/widowers who are legal residents of Charlestown who are in need of financial assistance. The selection of recipients is at are the sole discretion of the Trustees of Trust Funds for the Town. In determining the eligibility of applicants, the Trustees take into consideration income from all sources as well as assets and require income verification.
The Trustees will be accepting applications from those who meet eligibility guidelines. Any widow or widower must be a permanent resident of Charlestown. Applications may be obtained from the Selectmen’s Office and returned there or mailed to: Trustees of Trust Funds, PO Box 966, Charlestown, NH 03603 on or before November 20, 2017.
These are questions that will be asked of new applicants. Documentation must also be provided at time of application.
